I'm confused..doesn't this unit remove TDS? if you can't use unit above 0 ppm how do you remove TDS?

According to the manufacturer, the system does remove the total dissolved solids in the water. There is no meter on the system it's just a change in color. So when the two windows change two gold that is when you need to change out the resin. I hope this helps.
