How do you remove the old adapter?

I am remodeling the wet bay and need to remove and replace the ABS adapters on both tanks. They have a clamp and some sealer in place now. How do I remove it without damaging the tank?

If it is a stainless steel worm gear clamp or hose clamp, generally a silicone sealant is used. If so you will need to warm it up and it should slowly be able to peel out. Using a hair dryer may work the best. If they used a glue it might not come out without damage. Hope this helps.

We would suggest using something like EternaCaulk, linked below. Note: If ever using product indoors, make sure to ventilate really well. Smell is strong. Or you can just go with any silicone sealant.

I don't think it is either because of the color ... FYI, I managed to remove the fitting by taking the valves out and twisting each side (3" black water and 1 1/2" grey water) individually ... The sealant as I said is gray like caulk might be ... Does that help?
