When I slide control to electric heat the gas heat comes on.The electric heat furnace will not come on.

Whatever the room temp is you will want to set thermostat within 2 degrees or it will automatically kick on the gas. If you need it more and want for example 70 when room temp is 65, it will kick on gas until within 2 degrees, then it should us electric. If this is not the issue and you would like to speak with a tech at Coleman, you can contact them at (316) 832-4357 and they should be able to help diagnose. Hope this info helps.
