Key won't turn in the dead bolt for the lock?

Sounds as though it is not lined up, possibly with the striker plate. If when the door is open can you turn the dead bolt? If you can then something is not lined up. If you can't it may be another issue. You can always contact the manufacturer also, they can also help with trouble shooting. 1-(866) 682-2837 Hope this helps.
