When I have to convert to 30 amps, where does the surge protector go?

Picture this: do I first plug in the 50 to 30 plug >then this to the surge protector>then to the coach power? Or do I plug the surge protector to the source power >then 50 to 30 plug > then to coach power?

Either or would work, it wouldn't be a significant difference, you would get same result. We would suggest the surge protector to the power source, then adapter to RV, to keep the unit off the ground. Hope this helps.
