What is proper procedure to remove lens covers?

According to the manufacturer, to remove the lens on this light, you want to pinch both sides and slide straight back and it should pop right off.

Start by sliding the lens cover from the center of the light toward the end, once the lens has moved as far as possible grasp the lens that protrudes past the end of the fixture and pull away to separate. To re-install place the tabs on the lens back into the fixture farthest from the center, once lens is seated against fixture slide toward center to lock.
