According to the manufacturer, If locals in the area you are in, are broadcast on satellite 119, then you can purchase the UC1000 that would allow you to program the unit to find the 101 (which is currently what the unit looks for) and then also that 119 satellite. It would then switch quickly back and forth when told to in order to simulate like it's getting both satellites at the same time.
The first step here would be really confirming with Direct TV on what satellite your locals broadcast from. Just ask them that exactly, "what satellite do my locals broadcast from?", and they should be able to answer it for you. Now keep in mind this will only work while in your home area for where you account is setup for, if you move outside of that area, then locals would no longer be available due to restrictions in place by the satellite company and FCC.
