Esco LPT50BRD LYGHT 50 Amp 120/240v Relay Base Transfer Switch
RV Automatic Transfer Switches
The switch has developed a pronounced hum. When I went to dealer they said it is 'normal' kind of like sound refrigerator makes...but I don't think it is normal. Can I just shut it off if not using generator? How is it shut down? Our fifth wheel is landlocked and permanently connected to land electrical source, so switch is not used.

If not using the generator and don't plan to use it, you can just remove the device, take th input line (power line) and directly wire to the 120 V RV line. Safety first, make sure everything is unplugged and there is no power! Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
