Do these rugs wrap around the step? If so, how thick is the wrap around rug part? I have a close clearance.

According to the manufacturer, these sand away step covers have springs and hooks to fasten to the step, making this easy for attachment and removal. It is recommended to remove the rug during travel. This only comes in a charcoal color.
