According to the manufacturer there is no metal, it is just a soft frame. Here is a photo of the filter.

Heather, I wonder what prevents it from being sucked up off it's tray and into the A/C. What I am using now is a fit-to-cut filter and I use rubberbands wrap around the filter and tray along with some tape. It's a chore cleaning the filter! ha! I guess I could try it and see how it works. That filter is a better filter then the cut-to-fit one.
Are these easy to clean? Do you just wash them?

I am unsure on if they will get sucked up into the A/C, if you do try them please feel free to let us know how it works out for you. They are easy to clean, simply wash with soap & water every 30-60 days. Best of luck.
