I have a 2005-vintage RV-220-50 with no other surge-suppressor device. How many joules do I have (if any)?
50AMP VOLT BOOSTER&SURGE PROTECTOR
Also, the orange light on my unit is flickering when plugged in and the source current voltage checks out okay. This has occurred on a couple of sources and far as I can tell, my unit is working. Does this happen?

According to the manufacturer, yours has 733 joules surge suppression per line = 1466 joules total and 4500 amps spike protection per line = 9000 amps The yellow (amber) power light should stay on. Maybe your's has a loose connection or is just not working correctly. It could also indicate the ground your plugged into at the power pole is not good. and you should move to a different pole.
