Yes, this Dirt Devil door does have a switch that activates the vacuum when opened.

The Dirt Devil 4941 is a replacement inlet valve that will accommodate most Dirt Devil central vacuum hoses. The inlet door measures 4-3/8' tall and 2-3/4' wide, and has a 1-1/2' diameter opening.
