The Star Lights SL1000B Motion Sensor Porch Light Black is for use on a porch application, but yes with any light that is wired up you will have that same issue. Here is an example of the porch application.

The light we currently have on our jayco under the steps is wired in conjuction with the awning lights switch. the light under the steps only comes on if the awning lights are on. Will RV motion light have constant power or will I have the same issue? Thank you!
