Surge Guard 41260 Transfer Switch with built-in surge protection vs Portable Surge Protector with higher Joules rating
Surge Guard 50 Amp Automatic RV Transfer Switch
RV Surge Protection
I already have a Surge Guard 41260 Transfer Switch in my coach. Built-in surge protection is rated at 2600 Joules. Is that good enough or should I buy a portable surge protector in addition like Progressive EMS-PT50C which carries a higher Joules rating?

That's a good unit and covers you from most issues, but the the main thing is does not cover you from is low or high voltage. While an increased Joule rating is always better, I would be more concerned with the lack of low/hi voltage protection. Running an EMS myself I tend to see low voltage issues more than any other. With a 50 amp rig and all that can be harmed from this, I would suggest adding the Progressive EMS series to your setup.
