The power will come from the same place your converter gets power now, which is from shore power or generator if you have one. The device will then send DC power to the batteries just like your converter does now and existing lines will power the DC distribtion panel. When you go into inverter mode, the same DC connections from the converter/inverter will power the inverter and provide 120v ac power which is a line you will need to add and run to the ac distribtution panel. You will also want to distribute the inverted power to select circuits that would not over power the inverter.
