Now seeing your second question, I see you have the Lippert Level Up system. I would say the only time you would not need jack pads is if you are parked on concrete, asphault (during cooler temps) or very solid small size gravel. Any other time I would say jack pads are a good idea and you will be less likely to have to relevel the RV due to the jacks sinking. Also I have noticed on that system that with the small cylinder diameter that they tend to flex when the foot is on angled or soft ground. A set of jack pads would help keep that foot flat and the cylinder from flexing.
