what type of stem is on this Relaqua faucet

The material of the stem is a metal. You can use any type of stem with your faucet but a possible problem that may be happening is that the drain stopper may be froze up and stuck or it could possibly be the clip. So that may be why your having issues with the stem so I would check that.
