TST does not recommend using Equal or any other balancing powder when using their system. Even the smallest amount of powder leaking by the screen in the valve stem can render the sensor inoperative.
I did notice that Equal states that their product will not harm a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, but I'm assuming this might be internally mounted systems and not the valve stem type that the TST system uses.
