The power supply they are referring to is for the amplified signal. I am pretty sure your unit has an amplifier, probably at the TV switcher box. You should be able to turn it on or off (at least I remember that was the case on the 2003 model year). If you have this then you will not need to use the one included with the kit. You would just install the antenna and your done. If you do not or if it yours is no longer functioning than you would use the one in the kit. You would only use the included power supply & amplifier if you do not have this, do not use both.
