The plastic inserts are used if you need the latch to be more shallow.
Designer Mirrored Door Latch RV Designer H527 Sliding Mirrored Door Latch - RV Door Hardware
There are two large pieces, 1 for the door & 1 for the door frame. I also found 2 small plastic pieces that seem to slide into receiving side of each large piece. What is there purpose?
