The big difference is that the Readybrake uses a leveler to pull the cable attached to the towed vehicles brakes. It is a simpler design with less parts and the spring is set from the factory, there is no adjustments in portion of the brake necessary . The Blue Ox system uses pulleys inside the reciever to redirect the direction of the cable to pull the towed vehicle brakes. It also has an adjustable spring setup that is adjusted depending on the weight of the towed vehicles. This could be an advantage if you need more braking when towing with a smaller RV's.
