To calculate the correct force required. use formula below. To figure L use a stick at the 1/2 way distance of the length of the bed and set that on a bathroom scale.
F1 = Strut Force Required
L = Weight and center of distance
S = Distance of 1/2 way point
n = Number of struts to be used
d = Perpendicular distance from gas strut to a parrallel line drawn from the hinge
F1 = L x 9.81 x S x 1.1 / d x n
