It is maybe two or three times heavier than the original mount. Rather than just using 4 screws I used 8 bolts, washes, and nuts to spread the load on the wall surface. So far the new mount is not fatiguing the wall and the new mount is very secure during travel. During use the mount is very easy to extend and swivel. It is heavy and the only recommendation I can make is to use a lighter metal but just as strong/sturdy. I did not weigh the mount, but my guess is about 8 to 10 pounds. �
