A light fixture like this just went out

A light fixture like this just went out on me this morning. That is the bulb. But when I removed the cover I noticed quite a bit of brown on the wires and the place to insert the bulb. Looks like it may have been hot a time or two. Is it wise to just replaced the whole fixture or just change to LED bulbs?

Those incandescent bulbs definitely get very hot. It would be a good idea to verify that the insulation is not brittle and possibly fall off. If it's sound, going to an LED bulb in your current fixture will keep things much cooler.
