I used it to replace a Dewald pump, older model on a bumper pull with a single slide and it worked great for that.

The way you set the combination is following the printed instructions onthe inside of the battery cover. For example hold down thr 3 & 4 and at the same time press the enter key you will hear two beeps thus you enter your new code thus you will hear four beeps and your new code is set. This is true You do not enter your code. If this is the same procedure for every lock that is sold the only folks that can access your lock would be another customer. Security would be better if you had to use your code first. The bottom line any body can pry your lock off if they want in bad enought. I am not worried about this issue I like the convenience of the combination lock. One more point how many keys are out their for your standard lock???�

I have not heard of these issues and according to Bauer one must have access to the battery comapartment inside of the trailer or Rv. You can always contact Buaer for more information.
