There are different reasons as to why the unit can be giving a salty taste and replacing the resin may not resolve this issue.You can get replacement resin if you indeed need to refill the unit. However, if the unit looses about 1 cup worth of resin it will not need refilling. If you loose more than a cup then there is not enough resin in the tank and this can cause problems with the unit. S10000%20(2).pdf Possible reason & solution for the salty taste: If you are in a cold climate and using cold water then the resin and salt are not able to mix together well enough, producing a salty taste. You can use warm water and roll the unit on its side to shake it to mix.
