Question: If the fan is not going on is the unit bad?
Answer: The fan not running doesn't necessarily mean the converter is bad. The fan is temperature/load controlled, so it only comes on when needed. To test, we recommend checking that it has 120V AC input and then measuring the DC output/charging voltage at the converter or battery while plugged into shore power. If there is no DC output, the battery is not charging, or the unit is overheating/blowing fuses, then we recommend replacing the converter.
