How do I determine if the solenoid on my RV's slideout is defective?
Lippert 118246 Dual Polarity Reversing Solenoid For Hydraulic Leveling Systems/RV Slide-Outs
Lippert Slide Out Pumps
I have a Lippert 045-118246 Polarity Reversing Solenoid on my RV Slideout. The solenoid clicks when I push the button to retract the slides, but the pump doesn't always engage. It works most of the time when extending the slideouts, but rarely when I try to bring them back in. The RV is currently plugged into shore power and the battery is only a year old.

Many times the solenoids will get condensation inside and corrode only allowing intermittant contact or none at all. Some of them can be opened and cleaned.
