The difference would be in the model number, which can be found on the return air flange as well as on the rating plate under the shroud. If the model number indicates a 47 in the beginning of the model number, it will be a Mach 8. If the fifth digit, right before the letter or dash is a 1, this indicates that it is a cub. If the letter after the fifth number is a B, this indicates that it is a plus model. For example, this Mach 8 Cub has a model number of 47201B876, this shows me that its a mach 8 cub plus model.
