According to the manufacturer, If the app is open and scanning it will use some battery life of the phone. However, on an Android or Apple with the app just open in the background it is in "low power" scanning and its effects are marginal. Shutting off the blue tooth will stop the scanning if you like. The Tank Check app usually inst the only app using the radio blue tooth communication when active or in the background depleting your battery faster. Unless the app is open, Tank Check should not show a significant drain to your battery life.
