This unit is more of a maintainer than a charger. While it will charge, it only charges at a rate of 1.5 amps per hour. So larger batteries like a deep cycle battery would take a very long to to charge. If the battery is still connected to an RV or boat and there are perisidic loads still consuming power (such as a stereo, tv, ect..) than it may not keep up with what is being used. If the battery is in storage and disconnected, which is the perfect use for this charger, it is best to have it charged and this unit will keep in in perfect condition for next season.
